Floodlight's thermal drone footage shows at least 45 of 62 gas generators operating at DataOne in Vineland, the site supplying Microsoft under Nebius' $17 billion deal. NJDEP says it has issued no permits and none are under review.

IREN signed a frontier AI lab and is paying 9% to finance the GPUs. Microsoft deployment debt costs 6%.
IREN (IREN) reported fiscal 2026 results and a new multi-year contract with an unnamed leading frontier AI lab. The same release prices its GPU debt by customer: 9.0% on $2.4 billion for non investment grade deployments, 6.0% on the $3.6 billion behind Microsoft.

Countries are buying AI compute like oil reserves. Nvidia says it's already a $30 billion business.
Governments are buying AI compute as national infrastructure, and specialized neoclouds are renting out GPUs at scale, but the two overlap more than the headline numbers suggest. What it means for Nvidia, Oracle, CoreWeave, Nebius and IREN.

Ken Griffin says Citadel has closed out 80% of Leopold Aschenbrenner's Situational Awareness risk
Griffin's first comment on the Situational Awareness purchase came in a Friday letter to clients. It took more than 100 block trades over $4 billion of market value to retire four fifths of the risk.

Nebius (NBIS) is selling $4.5 billion of convertible notes, and the stock dropped about 9% on the news
Nebius announced a $4.5 billion convertible notes offering split between 2030 and 2034 maturities, plus exchanges of its existing 2029 and 2031 notes for new shares. NBIS shares fell about 9% Wednesday on the dilution risk.

Four states now publish how much announced data center demand they actually expect. All four throw out most of it.
Between December 2025 and August 2026, utilities and grid operators in four states each published their own count of how much announced data center demand they expect to serve. Seven filings, no shared method, and every one of them removes most of what it was asked for. None of the figures are new; the pattern across them is.

Leopold Aschenbrenner's latest filing shows he closed 13 of his 16 options positions and moved more than half his fund into SanDisk and Micron
Situational Awareness LP reported $8.46 billion of put positions on March 31 and one on June 30. The money went into SanDisk, Micron, Nebius and STMicroelectronics.

The AI trade rotates to a new sector every week. Which one is it going to be this week?
The AI trade has rotated by sector almost every week: software, then photonics, then memory. So which corner of AI runs next? I make the case for the one group that keeps riding along without ever leading.

Hedge Fund Citadel already held every stock in Leopold Aschenbrenner's book before buying it
Citadel's own quarterly filing, out Friday, already listed every stock in Leopold Aschenbrenner's book, about a month before it bought the book. The catch is what those holdings actually mean.

Nebius (NBIS) soars 27% as explosive AI demand burns Michael Burry's short
Nebius grew Q2 revenue 454% to $582 million, swung to a profit, and jumped about 27% as CEO Arkady Volozh said AI demand keeps growing exponentially. The whole data center trade rallied, and Michael Burry's fresh short went underwater.

CoreWeave (CRWV) crushed earnings and Cramer's IREN call aged well. Then Nebius (NBIS) crushed it too.
CoreWeave crushed its quarter and jumped about 15% after hours, five days after Jim Cramer told a caller to buy CRWV over IREN and called it cheaper and better. The backlog hit $104 billion. Nebius (NBIS) reports Wednesday morning, and it's the next test for the whole neocloud trade.

Lumentum (LITE) and Coherent (COHR) have each beaten Wall Street six quarters straight. Intuitive Machines (LUNR) has missed six straight, and 28 more AI stocks report the same week.
Lumentum and Coherent haven't missed a quarter in over a year. Intuitive Machines hasn't beaten one. More than 30 AI-linked stocks report earnings the week of August 10, and their trailing records couldn't be more different.

Michael Burry shorted Oracle (ORCL) at $144.63 and Nebius (NBIS) at $211.77. This time it's the stock, not puts.
Michael Burry shorted Oracle at $144.63 and Nebius at $211.77 on August 6, this time selling the shares short instead of buying puts. His argument: their AI-era earnings are inflated by understated chip depreciation.

The AI trade rallied Monday. Memory fell as much as 8% at the open even as chip prices kept rising.
Micron (MU) has lost a third of its value since June 25 and SanDisk nearly half. CoreWeave and Vertiv fell about half as far, and Nvidia rose. Memory contract prices never fell. What changed is the rate of increase, which went from 93-98% a quarter to a forecast 13-18%.

Nine Aschenbrenner stocks report earnings Aug. 4 to 6, led by SanDisk (SNDK). Nobody can say which six are still his.
Citadel bought the fund's public stock book on July 30. Six of the names in its last itemized filing report earnings between Tuesday and Thursday, and no filing yet says who owns them.

Leopold Aschenbrenner's Situational Awareness fund owned 19 stocks outright. Every one of them rose Thursday after he sold his positions
Four SEC filings name 19 companies Situational Awareness owned outright, and every one of them rose on July 30. Nebius was the biggest at about $1.84 billion, and the quarterly report understates SharonAI by twelve times.

The Nasdaq fell six days straight, then chips ripped. Microsoft, Samsung, and Citadel buying out Aschenbrenner all landed inside 18 hours.
The Nasdaq's six-day losing streak ended at exactly six, which our own history piece said was the single most likely outcome. Microsoft's $678 billion backlog, Samsung's call that the chip crunch runs to 2028, and Citadel buying the bulk of a leveraged $24 billion book all arrived between Wednesday's close and Thursday afternoon.

Citadel bought Leopold Aschenbrenner's stock book. Two outlets say he kept part of it, and a filing due Monday settles it.
Bloomberg and Reuters both name Ken Griffin's Citadel as the buyer of Situational Awareness's stock book, and both say bulk, not all. CNBC said the entire public book went in one block to one buyer. A Form 4 on the SharonAI (SHAZ) stake is due Aug. 3, an initial 13D or 13G from Citadel on Aug. 6, and the fund's own quarterly report on Aug. 14.

US strikes on Iran paused. Oil fell more than 3%, and Micron (MU) and Nebius (NBIS) rose over the weekend
US Central Command has gone two straight nights without striking Iran, and a Defense Department source told CNN operations are on a hold. Polymarket puts an effective ceasefire at 75% by August 31. US markets were shut all weekend, but the tokenized stock market never closed, and it spent Sunday buying the AI trade and selling oil.

All seven Magnificent Seven stocks fell today. Here's where that money actually went (July 23, 2026)
All seven Magnificent Seven stocks were red by late morning Thursday, led by Tesla's 14% drop on an earnings miss and Alphabet's close-to-7% slide despite beating estimates, on another capex raise. Amazon and Meta sold off too ahead of next week's reports. The money didn't just leave, it rotated: into defense on Lockheed's earnings beat, and out of quantum, SaaS and space.

Tesla (TSLA) and Alphabet (GOOGL) are falling hard. The rest of the AI trade isn't (July 23, 2026)
Tesla and Alphabet kept falling through Thursday morning even as chipmakers, neoclouds and photonics stocks held up fine. Oil topped $100 a barrel after Trump threatened to bomb Iranian infrastructure over any new attack on shipping.

Jim Cramer's tech calls are still lagging the rest of his book. Intel is 1 for 5, and IBM crashed the day after his second buy call.
Jim Cramer's tech calls are still his weak spot. Intel is 1 for 5 since June, IBM is down nearly 30% since his back-to-back buy calls, and his tech picks trail the Nasdaq-100 by more than three points a call even after Tuesday's chip bounce.
