Max your 401k match, Roth IRA and HSA before you touch a single stock. Index funds come next, individual stocks come last.

The order I'd actually go in: 401k match, then Roth IRA and HSA, then a broad index fund (or X Money if you want zero market risk), then mega-caps and dividend ETFs, then single stocks last.

Microsoft (MSFT) grew Azure 43% with $678 billion already booked. That is what Nvidia (NVDA) and Micron (MU) needed to hear.

Microsoft held its capital spending outlook near $190 billion, grew Azure 43% and rose 7.6% after hours. Meta raised its capex range by $10 billion at the low end, missed on earnings at $6.18 against a $7.14 estimate, and fell 9.0%. That is a better setup for Nvidia, Broadcom and Taiwan Semiconductor than another spending headline, though it does nothing about the memory supply problem that actually caused July.
